Everything is in the frame

Japanese housing brand Tostem launched ATIS, its latest collection of window designs, in the Philippines. ATIS: The Art of the View is a collection of windows created with an artistic and minimalist design, and offers products for every room in the house.

ATIS sliding windows are fitted with a safety cap to ensure that anyone who uses them will not be injured. The awning window comes with a simply designed, simply functional orbit handle. The tilt and slide window has two parts, tilt and slide, all in one. ATIS windows are equipped with a smart screen system with an invisible shield preventing insects from entering, letting in more air and increasing transparency.

Hirokazu Morokuma, Director of Marketing and Operations of LIXIL (Thailand) Public Company Ltd. explains Tostem’s streamlined design as “eliminating all unwanted parts on the frame.”

ATIS window hardware is hidden, caps and screws are hidden. “The hardware is meant to work and not to be seen,” he said.

Since 1967, Tostem has delivered functional performance and simple designs refined through the changing seasons of Japan. Tostem’s awards include the German Design Award 2021, the iF Design Award 2020 and the Good Design Award 2019.

Besides Japan, Tostem is present in India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.

“The Philippines is a very difficult market for window brands like us. The Philippine market is relatively similar to that of Japan. We both have experienced multiple typhoons each year, battling heavy rains and perhaps an environment where the wind blows like crazy, ”Mr. Morokuma said at the brand’s online launch on November 30.
